Babysitting in Minehead – Exclusive For Holiday Cottage Guests
We know that babysitting in Minehead is not the main reason families come to stay with us. However, it certainly is a greatly appreciated added bonus!
Indeed, sometimes our adult guests want to enjoy a quiet night without the children, perhaps a date night, a movie and a meal, or to celebrate a special occasion with friends.
Introducing babysitting in Minehead – straight to your Exmoor Character Cottages door!
We offer a babysitting service exclusively for holiday cottage guests. Jackie or Debbie will care for your children while you enjoy some precious downtime. They will come to your Exmoor Character Cottage to play and supervise.
Experienced babysitters you can trust
Debbie is a local nurse with more than 20 years’ experience. Jackie has worked for a children’s charity for more than two decades, supervising children’s play activities. Both are Criminal Records Bureau checked, First Aid trained, and fully insured, so your precious ones are in capable hands.
How to book your babysitting in Minehead
It’s simple. When you receive your pre-arrival email and security deposit, just let Lucy know you’d like to organise babysitting in Minehead. If you wish, you’ll receive a phone call to talk about your children, so we have as much information as possible. You can also arrange babysitting when you are staying with us – just give us a call. We charge £10 per hour or part thereof for children aged one year and above.
Playdates for your kids
Jackie also offers play activities with an educational overtone for children staying with us. At Christmas time, she becomes ‘Elf 11’ and comes to your cottage for craft activities – some of which you can eat!
In the summer, she morphs into ‘Captain Jack’ to run the ‘Pirate Academy’ in the garden of your holiday cottage, or if you prefer, on the beach in Minehead. Your children can learn to walk the plank, make a telescope to spot pirate boats out at sea, and find buried treasure. Jackie reads a fun book with environmental overtones linked to the seaside at storytime.
We ask that parents are involved and are present for all these activities. In fact, we find they often have as much fun as the children!
More to do with your children when you stay at Exmoor Character Cottages
We’ve written about things to do in the local area for families, whatever your interests, budget, or the weather. There are more ideas in our own blogs as well as the ones our younger guests have written:
- Marcus and Lucas Taylor went clay shooting with Birds Hill Days
- Ruby Rhead shares her favourite things to do when staying at The Oval Cottage in Dunster
- Luke, Max, and Jamie talk about the activities they tried at half term in Exmoor
For activities specifically, we offer discounts on golf at the Minehead Links and sailing excursions, plus there’s pony trekking, 4xx4 wildlife safaris, and a wide range of outdoor activities. And let’s not forget about the best feature of all – premium, beautifully appointed, dog-friendly holiday cottages, three complete with a hot tub. Find out what guests love about staying at our holiday rentals, or contact us if you have any questions.
